About Kenyon College

Kenyon is known as one of the 25 "New Ivies" and "Hot Colleges" (Kaplan/Newsweek), a "hidden gem" (The New York Times), and "The World's Most Beautiful College" (Forbes.com). If you saw Shaka Smart lead VCU to the Final Four, watched Ted (Josh Radnor) in "How I Met Your Mother," read Seabiscuit, Unbroken, Ragtime, or The March, follow Calvin and Hobbes or Zits, tuned in to John Green, consumed Newman's Own salad dressing, memorized the names of U.S. Presidents and Supreme Court Chief Justices, or have read The Kenyon Review, then you know Kenyon. Known as the college for aspiring writers, we are also among the nation's leaders for pursuing PhDs in the sciences, winning Fulbright Fellowships and Goldwater Scholarships, and going into the Peace Corps and Teach for America. Kenyon students find academic excellence and intellectual rigor in an atmosphere of collaboration on a stunning residential campus--a global village with 86% out-of-state enrollment boasting students from 49 states and more than 40 countries. At Kenyon, academic challenge goes hand in hand with a strong sense of community.  Small classes, close relationships with professors, and a beautiful campus provide a supportive environment where students thrive.  Professors serve as advisors and mentors, getting to know their students personally and often involving them in collaborative research.  Kenyon offers 32 majors and 26 minors along with 10 interdisciplinary concentrations.

Kenyon also puts a high value on diversity.  Domestic students of color represent 14% of the student population while international students hail from 43 different countries and comprise 4% of the student body.  The Office of Multicultural Affairs helps to support underrepresented students on campus and is a hub for various other centers for support including the Snowden Multicultural House and the Unity House.  More than a dozen cultural clubs are active on our campus.  We are delighted that a College Horizons alumna will be  a member of the class of 2015!
